The challenge

Nigeria's civic-technology sector was growing quickly, but there was no shared, up-to-date picture of what existed, how it was funded, who the key actors were, or where the gaps lay. That made it hard for government, funders, and civic organizations to make informed decisions.

Bragi's role & approach

Bragi worked as a research and authorship partner alongside Civic Hive, combining desk research, a classification of civic-tech tools, and stakeholder and funding analysis to produce a structured, referenced overview of the landscape.

What was delivered

  • A published landscape report on civic tech in Nigeria (2024 edition)
  • A typology classifying civic-tech tools by function
  • Analysis of the ecosystem's stakeholders and funding
  • Recommendations for government, private institutions, and civic organizations
